Silverware Windchimes

Today I was rummaging through our silverware drawer in search of something and found 6 miscellaneous (and not in the best condition pieces) of my grandma's old silver that I put in there a couple years ago because I didn't know what else to do with them and didn't want to throw them away. (My grandpa also made me a ring from a piece of it years ago). Anyway last fall at the Soakum Festival in Noble County a gentleman was selling wind chimes made from silverware and I admired them and later kicked myself for not buying one. My friend Lisa and I attended the festival after the Marietta rabbit show last fall and I was hoping to get back this year but the festival is on a different weekend than the show so I just asked Andrew to make the chimes for me today. I should mention that this project requires silver and not stainless steel in order to get the proper chiming sound and to get the drill bit through the metal. It took him less than an hour.

I looked up directions on the internet, drew a plan and viola.

This is the ring that my grandpa made for me back in the 80's. Isn't the pattern beautiful?

The World's Best Salsa

My brother makes the most awesome fresh salsa. We don't like it hot so he makes it mild but you could add jalapenos to spice it up.

Fun at the parade..

Happy Independence Day!

God Bless America!

A Styrofoam Head...

...that has been decorated makes a wonderful display for knitted angora items. Wish I could claim credit for the idea but I got it at The Wool Market in Colorado.

This is the one I made.

This is the original.

Dyed and Plied

This is the Samoyed hair being dyed and after plying. There are 35 yards in this ball and another 10 of just plain white from two "harvests". The Samoyed owner loves pink almost as much as she loves the dog. LOL

All Pink (and Wrinkly)

Pixie (REW) and Dylan's (Sable) French angora babies born about 2 hours ago. All healthy and plump in a very nice nest.
