Two kinds of camo in the yard tonight. My new and very comfortable crocs and a new and very pretty Pandorus Sphinx moth that hatched this evening.

Flora and Fauna
Just a couple more things from the yard that are new this year. Our mouse friend is living in one of the garage window wells and it was put back (much to its relief) after the photo session.

Killdeer Chick
Andrew and Nolan found a killdeer chick near its nest in the church yard by mom & dad's house.
Isn't it cute?

Bee Hive Maintanence
Bees are doing well. Just checking up on them today. Snagged a small taste of honey while I was at it.

Incoming Storm
I've been at mom and dad's since Tuesday evening helping out while mom was having surgery. Tonight the sky looked furious but it blew right over their house without a drop of rain.
Moths Have Hatched!
Some of our moths hatched last night around dusk- a male and a female cecropia and a male polyphemus. The cecropia cocoons were given to us by a friend and the polyphemus cocoon was collected from our magnolia bush last fall. The males flew off into the sunset but the female cecropia spent the night in our apple tree and this morning we found that she had a mate. We were hoping this would be the case and were excited to find her (along with her mate) still there. While we were taking photos a dragonfly came by and landed on my pants!
