Moths Have Hatched!

Some of our moths hatched last night around dusk- a male and a female cecropia and a male polyphemus. The cecropia cocoons were given to us by a friend and the polyphemus cocoon was collected from our magnolia bush last fall. The males flew off into the sunset but the female cecropia spent the night in our apple tree and this morning we found that she had a mate. We were hoping this would be the case and were excited to find her (along with her mate) still there. While we were taking photos a dragonfly came by and landed on my pants!
