Seven day old kit

Here's Sienna's little butterball at 7 days. Sienna is a good mama and after feeding the kit is so full that it can hardly move. I've never seen such a full milk belly. Also with only having the one mouth to feed Sienna doesn't seem so weary and she's not ravenous for food like a doe is that's feeding 6 or 8 which seems like it makes sense. Sienna was the most nervous doe I've had from breeding to kindling but after kindling she calmed back down to her normal self and doesn't mind me holding and inspecting the kit. I'm hoping for another doe as it is the same color as the sire.

Flash Mob

This is awesome. Guaranteed to make you smile. Below is the news story. Click here to view the video.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A flash mob at the Ohio Union is quickly becoming an Internet sensation.

Seventy students danced to the song "Don't Stop Believing" by the cast of Glee.

Seven cameras positioned all around the Ohio Union captured every dance move, including special appearances by President Gorden Gee and Brutus Buckeye.

The students have been clandestinely planning the dance for months. They've met in private rehearsal rooms twice a week. They had a late night practice inside the Great Hall the night before the dance, from midnight to 2 a.m.

The video went on the web at 4 a.m. Tuesday. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world have logged on to watch.

Everyone Loves Morels

This is our nephew with his "loot"; found in Northern Ohio close to where they live. I told my sister in law they were training him right! We have found that amount in past years. This year the weather here was funky and I didn't think it made for a very productive season. Oh well I don't need to eat that many anyway because I dredge them in flour and fry them in butter which makes for a boatload of calories.

Norman

Meet Norman, my new Flemish Giant buck. Tonight we played with him in the yard. He is very active and can hop really fast! Daisy didn't like him initially but she has warmed up to him and he doesn't seem to mind her. (Little does she know that he will soon be the same size as her).

Norman is to be a pet (I have always wanted a Flemish) and we will not be breeding or showing Flemish Giants. :-)

OSRBA Convention

The pouring down rain this morning did not excite me as I groomed my rabbits and loaded them for a trip to the state fairgrounds for the annual OSBRA convention. It turned out to be a better day than expected as I won Best Opposite Sex of Breed in Satin Angoras (BOB went to my friend Lisa) and Best of Variety White in French Angoras. I also got a 7 week old Flemish Giant, a breed that I have always adored and thought that someday I would like to own.

The Best Thing About Spring

No further explanation needed. Burp! :-)

One Day Old Kit

Nice and plump this morning with a big a fat milk belly. Look at all that fur! That's what happens when the kit is born three days past the due date. You get to find what color it is right away. LOL
