The Longest Day of the Year

"Solstice derives from a combination of Latin words meaning "sun" & "to stand still." As the days lengthen, the sun rises higher and higher until it seems to stand still in the sky. As a major celestial event, the Summer Solstice results in the longest day and the shortest night of the year. " (Chiff.com)

For us it was just a good excuse to go canoeing at Hoover Reservoir, admittedly not the most glamorous setting, but what a nice relaxing evening on the reservoir with our friends Barry and Melanie and dramatic sunset to start of the summer. In to the back bays and inlets...
